Use the station closest to the tender

The useful tide station is the one nearest the dinghy’s current position, not necessarily the Home Vessel. TenderTo selects a nearby NOAA prediction station and shows its name, current predicted level, and the timing of the surrounding high and low waters.

Compare nearby stations

A tender may sit between stations or travel through a place where conditions change over a short distance. Tapping the tide display opens a comparison of the three closest available stations, including their distance from the tender and their predicted high and low information.

Keep useful data when connectivity fades

Cellular service is not guaranteed around anchorages. TenderTo caches available station information and predictions so recently loaded tide information can remain useful when the connection drops. The app clearly depends on the coverage and predictions available from the source.

Plan for the return before sunset

Sunrise and sunset provide context for the entire outing. A route that looks simple in full daylight can become very different after dark, especially among docks, unlit markers, shoals, or similar-looking anchored boats.
