Set one clear return point
TenderTo is organized around one tender and one Home Vessel. During initial setup, the sailor saves the yacht’s name and position. That position persists across trips instead of disappearing when a journey ends or the app closes.
Start a trip from the vessel card
The Home Vessel card is both a reference and the natural place to begin. Tapping it starts the dinghy trip from the saved vessel position. Once underway, the dashboard keeps the current tender position and the Home Vessel information together.
See the straight-line distance back
During an active trip, TenderTo calculates the direct distance between the tender and the saved vessel position. The track shows where the dinghy actually traveled; the distance provides an immediate sense of how far away the yacht is.
Use the right position
A Home Vessel position should normally be set while aboard the yacht and with the phone reporting a reliable location. TenderTo warns when the location appears to be on land, while still allowing an intentional boatyard setup. If available in a future service configuration, an AIS comparison can provide another check.
Anchored boats can move. Swing, dragging, GPS error, and a position saved from the wrong place can all affect the return point. Confirm visually and with proper navigation equipment.
